This page will have my other programming projects in, ROSE Online gets its own dedicated page because of all the work I have done for it!

As you can see I do have alot of experience in private servers, first ROSE Online, then Guild Wars and then Fiesta!

Guild Wars was such a bitch to code for though! Firstly it used Streams instead of packets, using some clever assembly stuff i managed to get around its streamage for logging packets but it was still nasty to code the server for!

Also, almost every time the game updated the packet headers changed, which is absolutely freaking annoying when you have a nice working server then BAM update (there are frequent updates on Guild Wars) and nothing works and it takes ages to fix again. We did attempt to come up with automated solutions for fixing this but we could only do so much!

Thirdly its skill system would be rediculously hard to emulate, the skills in Guild Wars are very complex, not that we got to the stage of writing the skill system but we shall just ignore that for now .

Fourthly, its packet encryption was very complex, we decided to not even use it and instead using some inject dll magic made the encryption key static instead of its dynamic always changing always being annoying one!

Fiesta Online was also rather unpleasant, its item system is rather odd. The packets which send the item data in vary in length for different items, after seraching for many a times I could not find any link between a paticular item and the packet it produced, this made me not bother carry on with the private server even though Fiesta is such a lovely game .

In conclusion, ROSE Online is soooo easy and nice to code a private server for! <3 ROSE.
